Who is responsible

sufler is made and sold by Festim Peposhi, Durres, Albania ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: hello@sufler.me.

The sufler app

Call audio, transcripts and translations

sufler captures the audio that Microsoft Teams, or any other app you choose, plays on your Mac. It turns that audio into text, identifies speakers by voice and translates it, all on your Mac. None of this audio, text or voice information is sent to us or to anyone else.

The transcript is kept in your Mac's memory while sufler runs. It's deleted when you clear it or quit the app, unless you choose to copy it or save it to a file, which then stays under your control.

The people in your calls are affected too: their speech is processed on your Mac. We never receive it, but you're responsible for using sufler lawfully and fairly towards them (see our Terms).

Settings

Your preferences, such as languages, the vocabulary hint and speaker names, are stored only on your Mac.

Every connection the app makes

• Model downloads (Hugging Face). When you first set sufler up, it downloads its speech and translation models from huggingface.co. Like any download, this reveals your IP address to Hugging Face, which handles it under its own privacy policy. We don't send any information about you.
• Licence checks (Lemon Squeezy). When you activate a licence key, about once every 30 days afterwards, and when you deactivate a Mac, sufler contacts api.lemonsqueezy.com. It sends your licence key, the activation's ID, and your Mac's name as set in System Settings › General › About (for example "Ana's MacBook Pro"), so you can tell your activations apart. The reply includes the email address of the order, which sufler keeps in your Mac's Keychain.
• Apple language packs. If you choose a subtitle language that Apple's built-in translation handles, macOS may download that language pack from Apple. The translation itself still runs on your Mac.

sufler contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising identifiers or other tracking, and makes no other connections.

Buying sufler

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, the merchant of record, which processes your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details. From Lemon Squeezy we receive your name, email address, country, order details, your licence key and its activations (the Mac names and dates described above).

We use this to deliver and manage your licence, answer support requests, handle refunds, prevent licence misuse and fraud, and keep the accounting records the law requires.

This website

sufler.me sets no cookies and uses no analytics or third-party services. Its fonts and images are served from our own server. Like almost every web server, our host records basic access logs (IP address, time, page requested and browser type) to keep the site running and secure, and deletes them after a short period.

The checkout pages on lemonsqueezy.com are run by Lemon Squeezy under its own privacy policy.

Email

If you write to us, we use your message and email address to reply, and keep the conversation for as long as it's useful for your support, at most two years after our last contact.

Legal bases

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Albania's personal data protection law, we rely on:

• Contract: to sell you a licence, activate it and support you.
• Legal obligation: to keep tax and accounting records.
• Legitimate interests: to prevent fraud and licence misuse, and to keep the website secure (server logs).

How long we keep data

• Order and licence records: for as long as your licence exists, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
• Support email: up to two years after our last contact.
• Website server logs: for the short period our host keeps them.

Who we share data with

We don't sell personal data. We share it only with the services that help us run sufler: Lemon Squeezy (payments, tax and licensing), our web host and our email provider. Some of them are based outside Albania and the EU, including in the United States. Where that applies, they protect the data with safeguards such as the EU's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, or ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or transfer it to you. Email hello@sufler.me and we'll reply within 30 days. If you think we've handled your data wrongly, you can complain to Albania's Information and Data Protection Commissioner, or to the data protection authority in your own country if you live in the EU.

Children

sufler is not intended for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update it here with a new effective date. If a change matters for how we use your data, we'll tell customers by email.
